September 15 is the International Day of Democracy.
The day, on which the rule of people, the rule of law, protection of human rights and equality are being celebrated around the World.
Today, Georgia is the 91st in the Democracy index ranking among the countries with hybrid regimes (The Economist, Democracy Index 2021). Once the leader in the region, today we fall behind Armenia and Ukraine.
Democracy means the rule of people – We, the Georgian people, have yet to prove that we have chosen to build a free, independent and democratic country. Ahead of us lies a long and rough road.
