Purpose of the project

The purpose of this project is carrying out a longitudinal study of entrepreneurship in Georgia, analyzing and understanding the journey from the intention to the action that leads to creating an enterprise. The report will also reflect the original research on linkages between unobserved and observed economy in the country, investigating the growth of enterprises and their interaction with the environment. In line with above-mentioned plans to make the reports more responsive to the actual issues encountered by the population, EPRC will solicit feedback from businessmen on the obstacles of doing business in the country and on the reality of government regulations.

The study will put forward conclusions regarding the triggering factors that help entrepreneurs move from self-employed to SME phase, or changing from unobserved to observed economy. In this way an institutional framework for entrepreneurship will be assessed in Georgia, possible hindering factors will be exposed, and consequently, recommendations for further policy change in this direction will be formulated.
