Recommendations for the management of SARS-COV-2 epidemic in Georgia

In 2019, the Center for Economic Policy Research (EPRC) launched a platform to develop positions, arguments, and recommendations for the development of the health care system and the definition of long-term vision. The members of the group are professionals in the field of healthcare, economics and public administration who have the desire and willingness to agree on the best approaches to the development of the state in the field of healthcare, despite the worldview differences.

Due to the spread of the SARS-COV-2 epidemic, the working group was actively involved in discussing the problematic issues created around this pandemic. The government is taking large-scale measures to curb the Covid-19 epidemic in Georgia. The scale of the crisis is so great that it has negatively affected not only health care, but also various areas of social, economic, political and public life.

The purpose of the recommendations developed by the professionals united in the group is to help the government in the fight against the epidemic.
During the working process, the group prepared three documents – April 15 (Health), April 23 (Economy) and May 1 (Health Care Advice) and shared them with the authorities and embassies, international organizations, and expert circles.
