On December 11th a presentation of the report Analysis and Recommendation on Draft Budget 2013 prepared by EPRC with the support of Open Society Georgia Foundation was held. The report analyzed how the newly elected government responds to current challenges and how these are reflected in the Draft Budget 2013. The main conclusions and recommendations presented tackled the following issues:
1. New amendments on non-taxable minimum income;
2. Creation of New State Insurance Fund;
3. Healthcare insurance for the entire population of Georgia;
4. Agriculture;
5. Increase in the share of public spending for financing higher education. The presentation was attended by the representatives of the Government and Parliament of Georgia, NGOs, international organizations, independent experts and the media.
