ACTION – Activating Civil Society Organizations Through Training and Inclusive Operational Network

The Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC) with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation implements the project: ACTION – Activating Civil Society Organizations Through Training and Inclusive Operational Network.

The project goal is to establish a long-term collaboration and experience-sharing platform among civil society, think-tank and research organizations from Georgia and Armenia, and to strengthen the Georgian-Armenian non-governmental organizations’ capacities and capabilities on data analysis, digital media communication, and conveyance of the research findings into the messages comprehensible for the public.

To achieve this goal, EPRC will provide participants with workshops aimed at experience sharing and mutual learning in the fields of data reporting, fact-checking, digital technologies, and the role of digital tools for effective communication strategies. Participants will develop skills on the issues of media communication, story-telling, and the ways of working with open data sources. They will learn how to create easily perceivable messages and data visualizations for the public, which will help them, increase public trust and awareness towards their organization.

Workshops and seminars will be conducted by the leading experts in media and public relations, analysts, and journalists from Georgia.

During the project, participants will work on blogs and publications concerning the social issues of their choice. Authors will be granted a honorarium for their research publications. Their work will be published on the official web page of EPRC and disseminated through social media outlets.

As the final stage, the participants will be granted an opportunity to conduct a one-week internship at the Georgian civil society organizations.

For this purpose, EPRC is pleased to announce a call for Armenian Civil Society Organization’s representatives, to submit their applications, participate in the project, develop their skills, establish a sustainable network and become members of the long-term collaboration platform. Participants will be invited to attend the three-day boot camp in Tbilisi.

Regarding the costs, the international travel and accommodation will be covered by the project.

In order to participate in the project, applicant should be:

  • A civil society actor (representing civil society organizations, NGOs and media outlets) from Armenia;
  • Working or interested to work on one of the following issues:(1) sustainable economic and social development, (2) gender and economics (3) migration issues;

The activities related to the project that include seminars and trainings, and subsequent networking and research will last for the period of 8 months, which will combine online sessions and webinars, followed by a one-week internship at a Georgian Non-Governmental Organization.

To apply for the project, applicants should submit:

  • A motivation letter (clearly stating their interest and expectations from the project);
  • A resume;
  • Provide information of one referee (their name, e-mail address and phone number).

The working language of the project will be English.
