On Thursday, 12th of January, 2017, at Rooms Hotel Tbilisi, Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC) presented a report produced in the framework of Georgia and the Neighbors program. This issues focused on relationship between Georgia and China.
The opening remarks were made by H.E Mr. Ji Yanchi, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia. He spoke about the increased cooperation between these two countries. In addition he briefly addressed the vision and the underlying concept behind New Silk Road or Belt and Road Initiative, emphasizing on the mutual possibilities created by this initiative. Furthermore, the Ambassadors mentioned the upcoming World Economic Forum at held in Davos, Switzerland. He made an announcement regarding Chinese President Speech planned on 17th of January, which is promised to include interesting information for Georgia. The event was attended by distinguished representatives from diplomatic, public and private sectors. The study is prepared within the Georgia and the Neighbors periodical supported by Think Tank Fund (TTF)/Open Society Foundations (OSF).
