Nino Evgenidze, Executive Director of the Economic Policy Research Center, and Eka Gigauri, Executive Director of the Transparency International Georgia, held 20 important meetings during their visit to Washington, D.C on July 18-22.
The main topics of discussions were focused on the recent political developments in Georgia and the necessary reforms required to move the country forward towards becoming an EU member state.
During the visit, meetings were held at the State Department with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kara McDonald, the Senate and the House of Representatives, the US National Security Council, the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Republican Institute (IRI), the National Democratic Institute (NDI), with representatives of the Atlantic Council, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Hudson Institute, the US National Endowment for Democracy (NED), the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) and other analytical organizations working on issues of Georgia.
