Tamara Sartania is an international development professional with more than 12 years of experience in developing and managing programs with a particular focus on civil society development, parliamentary strengthening, elections and good governance systems. Currently she works as a Deputy Chief of Party for National Democratic Institute (NDI), Georgia office.<\/p>\n

In her role, Tamara\u00a0 oversees programs funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) aimed at increasing political pluralism and citizen participation in politics. In addition, she is in charge of the Institute\u2019s election programing and has served as NDI\u2019s Long-Term Analyst for Parliamentary Elections in Lebanon (2018) and as a Political Analyst for OSCE\/ODIHR Election Observation Mission for Parliamentary Elections in the Republic of Moldova (2019).<\/p>\n

Prior to joining NDI, Tamara\u00a0 was a Senior Project Officer at CARE International, working with women at the grassroots level in the conflict-affected regions of the South Caucasus.\u00a0 She\u00a0 has also worked as an international development consultant for Eurasia Foundation in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and has served in the government of Georgia for three years. Tamara\u00a0 holds a Master of Arts degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School, Tufts University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in International Relations from Tbilisi State University. Tamara speaks fluent Georgian, English and Russian and a little bit of French.
