Today, October 8, the first meeting of the Book Club was held at the Fukuyama Democracy Frontline Centre.
The first meeting was dedicated to the discussion of Larry Diamond’s “Ill Winds”, which was translated into Georgian and published by EPRC in 2020.
Attendees discussed some of the key issues of the book, such as Russia’s foreign policy, the authoritarian wave, and other threats to democracy.
The main goal of the club is to create an intellectual space where participants will be able to get in-depth knowledge of the works of world-renowned authors, discuss, exchange ideas, and hold discussions.
Economic Policy Research Center, as part of its publishing activities, extensively translates and publishes the works of important contemporary authors on democracy issues. Larry Diamond’s “Ill Winds” is the latest edition of the Georgian translation, which was presented on September 15, on the International Day of Democracy.
The meeting was held in a small working group in accordance with the rules set for the epidemiological situation.
