Trainings
EPRC aims at delivering education based on the modern skills and knowledge to the Georgian society. For this purpose EPRC implements training projects and programs addressing such issues as: modern accounting standards in Georgia, Tax Code, Public Finance Monitoring Methods, Program Budgeting, etc. Target audience of the seminars – representatives of Parliament and other state authorities, students, media and non-governmental organizations, ethnic minorities, private sector.
 
TRAININGS FOR THE MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT AND THE STAFF OF VARIOUS COMMITTEES

The purpose of the project is to increase capacity of the committee staff and strengthen the role of the parliament in budget oversight. 

Within the project, experts of Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC) conduct trainings for the Members of Parliament and the staff of various committees. For the purpose of the project, four target committees were chosen: healthcare, agrarian, environment protection and human rights. 

The trainings are linked to the budgetary cycle and touch upon the issues of: budget principles, importance of transparent budget, the role of the parliament in budgetary processes, budget analysis, principles of program budgeting, Basic Data and Directions document (BDD) and its relation to the state budget, analysis of draft laws, etc.

TRAINING FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN REGIONS

The purpose of the project is to empower and increase capacity of the women entrepreneurs in the ethnic minority regions of Georgia in order to increase their financial independence and ensure their full participation in economic life.

MODERN FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS FOR REGIONAL MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES

Purpose of the project

The project is designed to promote media independence through introducing the use of modern financial accounting standards in regional media organizations. The focus will be on the introduction of modern accounting software in media organizations, in terms of both purchasing the software and provision of hands-on trainings, consultations and expert advice about adjustment of financial accounting.

RAISING AWARENESS ON NEW TAX CODE AMONG ETHNICS MINORITY REPRESENTATIVES ENGAGED IN SME

Purpose of the project

In Georgia, the highly multiethnic composition of citizenry creates the need to make sure that the business persons and entrepreneurs engaged in SME are not precluded from having access to the current information and knowledge concerning financial and economic policies that directly affect their activities. The project targets specifically the policy area with greatest impact on business activity – the tax code, and aims at educating citizens belonging to ethnic minorities on the new features of the tax code and their effect on business activities.

REGIONAL MEDIA NETWORK FOR BUDGET TRANSPARENCY

Purpose of the project

The aim of the project is to increase media capacities in covering budgetary issues, to increase awareness of the civil society regarding the budgetary policy of the country. At the same time, creation of a regional media network thus ensuring long-term project sustainability.
